The Premium Group’s commitment with social inclusion is focused on facilitating employability to the Malaga gipsy community. Such initiatives promote the equal development of all individuals in a society, regardless of their background, sex or age. The Premium Group, with its hostel in Malaga, believes that this philosophy can be a reality through actions that promote labour market inclusion and other social inclusion initiatives. That is why last May we collaborated with the Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG, Gipsy Secretariat Foundation) in its training and insertion programme for the gipsy community, co-financed by the European Social Fund.
Do you want to know how FSG helps young gipsies achieve their employment goals? Today we’ll tell you how our hostel in Malaga collaborated with this social inclusion initiative.
The FSG is an intercultural organisation devoted to promoting opportunities for the gipsy community in Spain. In their 35 years they worked for equal rights of gipsy people in matters of employment, education, health and housing.
In the case of the gipsy community employability, with which we had the pleasure of collaborating, the foundation planned a programme with three fundamental pillars: knowledge and formal education, provided by the FSG members; the practical training that young people need so much, and public and private entities involvement, which is where Premium Group comes into play.
The youngsters taking part in this programme that helped them enter the labour market could improve their employment prospects thanks to the joint efforts of all the involved parties. This contact with a real working environment, after their course, is really gratifying in all senses. In fact, the enthusiasm with which these young people faced their internships speaks for itself.
In our hostel rooms, in the Premium Group’s restaurants and in La Fábrica, all the boys and girls in the programme have proved their worth and are a great example for the gipsy community and society in general. To such extent, that our hostel staff feel fortunate to be able to take part on this gratifying social inclusion initiative that would not have been possible without the FSG members work. We are looking forward to working with them again in such rewarding experiences like this one!
