The Malaga Gastronomy Festival has been a total success in its fourth edition reaching a new record with more than 80 000 people who enjoyed this well-regarded gastronomic event in Malaga. The event took place from 10th April to 7th May and its main location was La Marina Street Food, in the very heart of Malaga downtown.
During these days, Plaza de la Marina has been the perfect place to taste Spanish cuisine and enjoy multiple international innovative culinary proposals, as all these Spanish tapas were available between two and four euro, a real luxury!
The Malaga Gastronomy Festival is a prestigious event in which every year participate recognised restaurants in Malaga and renowned chefs from all over the country, such as Dani García, Eneko Atxa, Ángel León, Loleta or Richard Alcayde.
Among the ten restaurants chosen to have a gastronomic space in La Marina Street Food, we could find the restaurant of our boutique hostel in Malaga, Batik, where our well-known chef Mario Rosado and his creative cuisine full of contrasts surprise constantly.

There were several cosmopolitan proposals with many signs of the most trendy international cuisine... Some of the delicacies that all the people coming to taste Spanish tapas these days enjoyed are tartar of salchichón Prolongo, kofta (Egyptian street sandwich), Thai-style oysters, toast with chicken tinga and chile chipotle, bread with tuna in lard… and, of course, the succulent proposal of Batik.
This year, the restaurant of our well-known boutique hostel in Malaga prepared some dishes that catered anyone’s taste. For those who loves meat, a delicious beef sirloin hamburger with truffle, boletus and pesto rosso, and for fish lovers, a taco of smoked salmon tartar with Jack Daniels, pickles and mojito-gel. Asian food was also present in our proposals with a special version of the typical Vietnamese wrap: pork Nem Chà giò with yakiniku, mushrooms and jalapeños.
