As malagueños (citizens of Malaga) through and through, at the Alcazaba Premium Hostel we love Holy Week. Located between Malaga’s majestic Alcazaba, the castle of Gibralfaro and the Buenavista Palace, home to the Picasso Museum, our modern and innovative boutique hostel stands out as an essential reference point for experiencing Malaga’s Holy Week close up.
On the fourth and the fifth floors of our emblematic building, at Number 12 calle Alcazabilla, you will find the best stands from which to enjoy our most profound and characteristic tradition: the Batik restaurant and Alcazaba Premium Hostel Terrace, where from front row seats in a privileged position you will be able to enjoy the parades and processions that pass along our central street. What’s more, because the building was originally built in 1920 by the developer and founder of the Association of Confraternities, Antonio Baena Gómez, the passion for Holy Week is deeply rooted in our foundations.
So that you don’t miss any of the programmed events and can fully experience all that Malaga has to offer during this important week, we summarize here some of the most important processions and parades that can be seen from our hostel and our terrace:
