In 1998, the Málaga Film Festival was born in our city to promote the broadcasting and promotion of the Spanish films, to become a reference nationally and internationally, and to encourage the development of Málaga as an open and cultural city.
The Festival (which takes place between April 17th-26th this year) celebrates its eighteenth edition and inundates the city with art, movement and celebrities. It is easy to meet actors, directors and professionals of the Spanish cinema, enjoying the sparkling Malaga cultural life and showing up in bars, terraces and restaurants in downtown.
At Alcazaba Premium Hostel you will enjoy an epic location for a closer look of everything happening in the city these days. Just a few steps from the hostel, you will find the Albéniz Theater, one of the main sites for Festival's film screenings, plus a landmark building dating from 1945. If you wish to learn more about the theater's full film schedule, in addition to other Festival screenings, you can see them here (in Spanish, ALB is the cinema's symbol).
As if this were not reason enough, some of the events of the Festival may take place in the Rooftop Terrace of our boutique hostel and in Batik, our restaurant, so we will have professionals from the world of cinema and familiar faces among our customers and guests.
So, are you going to miss this all? Come to Alcazaba Premium Hostel and enjoy the Film Festival at the front row!

This year, we have prepared an unrivalled New Year's Eve Party at our boutique hostel (located right in Malaga downtown) that has everything: dinner, goodie bag and drinks. The most complete Party in Malaga downtown, in an unbeatable location at the top and with a (more than) select environment.
Just a few days ago, Malaga’s most emblematic festival, the Málaga Fair, came to an end. Do you want to get an idea of how we lived the experience in the most charming hostel in Málaga? Come in and check it out!
